March 24 Blog Challenge

SOMETHING YOU HAVE LEARNED:

I have learned that the white/cheese/caramel pop corn from Colby Ridge is simply the perfect snack. I am sure it was created by the devil because once you start eating it, it is almost impossible to stop! Now, as a former Colby Ridge employee I have bagged way more pop corn then I ever care to think about so you might think I would be repulsed by the sight of it, NAH! I love it anyway :)

March 23 blog challenge

YOUR FAVORITE VACATION:

My favorite vacation is nothing fancy. It was when our family got to travel with Jeremy for work and stay in a hotel. We swam and played all day while he worked and at night we went to dinner and swam and played some more. J, God bless him, made sure he got me a room with a jacuzzi tub so I got nice long bathes. It was great fun although it was nothing fancy. Our kids still talk about it and the fun we had. Loved that trip so much!

March 22 bloge challenge

FAVORITE CITY:

My favorite city would have to be Lincoln. It is the only place I ever want to live, where I want to raise my kids, where I pray they will stay when they are older ;) I love this city because it's not to big and not too small. I know it, I'm comfortable with it, I love it!

March 21 blog challenge

A PICTURE OF YOURSELF:

I don't have pictures of just me. I am almost always the one taking the pictures, so it is rare that I am even in them.
So here is my favorite picture of Jack and I when he was 18 months old :)

SOMETHING YOU MISS:

My old body. Before the great weight gain with Jack, before the stretch marks and spare tire around my middle. Back when clothes looked good and took little effort to pick out because there wasn't that much to cover. Back before getting dressed in anything besides sweat pants and a t-shirt was a cause for distress. When jeans were comfortable and swimsuits were cute. AAAHHHH I long for a thin body again some day. Some day I will look like the old me. It's been 7 years, I think the odds are against me! :)

March 18 blog challenge

SOMETHING YOU REGRET:

There are many things in life I might have done differently. But to say I regret something meaning I wish it had never happened, not so much. If things hadn't happened the way they did, then I would never be where I am today, and that is such a good place to be! Hindsight is always 20/20, I like everyone else wish some things had played out different, I just try really hard not to dwell on that :)

SOMETHING YOU ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO:

March 16 blog challenge

Dream House:

My dream house changes from day to day. The consistent thing I want in a new house is a bigger/open kitchen/dinning/living room space. One with a table that can be big enough to seat 12, but can be made smaller when we don't need it. I used to want 4 or 5 bedrooms all on the upstairs level, but now it would appear I would only need 3 (or 4 if I want an extra) I want a big master bedroom with a HUGE walk in closet and whirlpool tub. Jeremy wants to make sure we have a bar in the basement, I want to make sure we have a LARGE storage room :)
Honestly, we are pretty happy where we live. Yes there are things we wish were different or bigger, but it's a great house with wonderful neighbors and that can be hard to find!
So in general my dream house is a 2 story old/new house. By that I mean a new house that looks like it is straight out of 100 years ago but newly constructed. I love big old houses, they have a certain charm that todays houses don't offer.

A Bible verse:

For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope...when you pray I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me, I will be found by you." says the Lord..."I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."

Jeremiah 29:11-13

and psalm 32:8

March 14 blog challenge

A picture that you love:

Right now I am in love with this picture, because I think it is what my girls would have looked like. Lately Emma has been noticeably in need of a play mate and I think often of her baby sister only 20 months younger then her and the fun they would have had together.

March 13 blog challenge

GOALS:

Lots of things popped into my head when I sat down to write this blog. I have long term goals, short term goals, meaningful goals, and trivial goals.

Some short term goals I have are:
  • loose the baby weight that I have been carrying around for 7 years now (off and on)
  • clean out the store room and ditch the rest of the baby stuff.
  • learn how to bake amazing cakes
  • pay off all debt

Some long term goals are:
  • keep the weight off
  • keep all the reorganizing I've been doing, done
  • buy/build a house with a bigger kitchen and all 3 bedrooms on the same level

Some meaningful goals:
  • strengthen and maintain all the best relationships in my life
  • find a full time job that will allow me to be there for my kids whenever I am needed and still contribute to our family
  • be a better person to everyone, a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, & friend

Some trivial goals:
  • find the time to get my hair cut and highlighted (it has been FAR too long)
  • fix up the shack in the back yard for Emma's play house
  • make a basketball court in the back yard for Jack

Kids Room ReDONE

It is DONE. I have redone the kids room for the LAST time. And I LOVE IT! I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Here is a before picture.I finally sold ALL the bedding that I had collected over time and ordered the new quilts last week. (Jacks came in first as you can see in the before pic, I couldn't wait to put it on!) Friday night I painted over the disgusting green color, that I chose wrong the last time I painted and have hated since I started brushing it on. I chose the color very carefully this time. Flipping through many catalogs and doing many google searches. I finally settled on Beacon Gray. It was perfect. It only took me about 3 1/2 hours to move everything, tape, and paint. I let it dry over night and in the morning went to Target for curtains, navy black outs, and pink sheers, and bulletin boards. Came home and sprayed the boards, which Lucy promptly stepped on and left a paw print and pink paw prints there after. Then realized that I didn't have the correct hardware for the double curtain, so off to Menards! The next morning I nagged Jeremy until he hung the boards, shelves, names, and curtains for me. But of coarse it didn't go smoothly, why would it!? I got the wrong curtain rods, and the shelves were made cheaply and wouldn't hold up. SO, what should have taken J 1/2 hour took him almost 4!!! Sorry babe! BUT THANKS! Today I printed a new picture of the kids for above the dresser, and hit the 50% off sale at Hobby Lobby to finish it off. Here is the end result.Sorry for the phone pics. I was in a hurry :)

March 12 Blog Challenge

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE:

I believe many things. I believe everything happens for a reason, and God has a plan. I believe God's plan is never meant to hurt us, even though sometimes it might feel like it. I believe God knows I love him and believe in him without me plastering it all over my FB page or forwarding a million e-mails. I believe in prayer, I think I talk to God more then I talk to anyone. Just a quick thanks for not letting me stumble into the paint tray, or a dear God please don't let Emma throw one of her massive fits right here in isle 3 while everyone stares and mother of the year! :) I pray about everything from big to little. Sometimes I feel like I occupy to much of Gods time! LOL

March 11 blog challenge

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW:

It seems that most of my TV time is spent watching kids shows. I have to admit I don't mind, too much. I like Sponge Bob, The Fresh Beats, Good Luck Charley, and some others too. As for adult TV, my all time favorite is I Love Lucy. I love the old black and whites, the simpler times, when moms all stayed home and dads were home by 6 for dinner. Women dressed in pretty dresses and pearls, with freshly combed hair. (A far cry from my daily attire) I miss the show Friends and catch reruns every chance I get!! I loved Sex and the City and the Sopranos, (when I was a teenager living at home with mom and dads HBO!) I love to catch those reruns too! As for current TV, I love Desperate Housewives, Castle, American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Modern Marvels, In the Middle, Cougar Town, Modern Family, and Grey's Anatomy. The problem is, I never seems to catch them. My DVR is almost always full of shows I need to watch but don't. By the time I get some time to myself where I could watch TV uninterrupted I'm too tired and just want to read and go to bed! (man I'm lame!)
I should add that there are TONS of other shows I love to catch when channel surfing and I do really like to watch TV!!

March 10 blog challenge

SOMETHING YOU ARE AFRAID OF:

I am not really sure what I am afraid of? I mean normal things like spiders, snakes, mice and well really any bug or animal other then a dog freak me out. But I am not sure that I am afraid of them, well kinda I guess. I am claustrophobic so being trapped freaks me out and I panic thinking about being buried alive or something. I think my biggest fears are not about things, but about life. Worrying that my kids will move away when they are adults and we won't be together anymore. That they will become rebellious teenagers and dye their hair pink and pierce everything and hate me. That they will grow up unhappy. Those are my biggest fears. Ones involving my kids, and their happiness.

PS a real fear come true, this blog challenge is not as much fun as I thought it was going to be and I really don't want to do all these posts! :)

March 9 blog challenge

A PICTURE OF YOUR FRIENDS:

There is no way I could pick which friends to include a picture of in this blog. And if I included a picture of every one, this blog would be forever long. So I will just tell you about my friends.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, I honestly have the best friends around. I know other people who struggle to find good friends. They meet new people and try to build a friendship but they just have no luck. The people that I call my friends are nothing short of amazing. My life would be incomplete without you all, and there is no need to wonder who I am talking about, you know! :) My friends are supportive and loving and so much fun to be around. I can't call just one my best friend, I am closest with several for different reasons, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have noticed since I started having kids, I don't have the time I would like to spend with friends and I have to say" no, sorry I can't" all too often. But the friends who have stayed with me even though I can't always come out to do things are the only ones worth keeping around!
I love you all and am so thankful you are in my life!

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

March 8 blog challenge

A PLACE YOU HAVE TRAVELED:

I am pretty pathetic in the travel department. As I child we traveled to Adventure Land and Worlds of fun and no further. When I was 17 my Aunt took me with her on a business trip to California and I finally got to go to Disney Land. Together Jeremy and I have gone to Worlds of Fun, and to visit his cousin in Missouri, we went as a family to South Dakota for a wedding, and have been no further. It's pathetic I know :( Our goal is to take the kids to Disney World in the next year, and some day around our 10th anniversary to take a tropical vacation just the 2 of us. Maybe in a few years I can blog about those!

March 7 blog challenge

FAVORITE MOVIES:
I love anything funny, stupid funny if my fav! Step brothers ranks highest in that department. I love a good love story, and the Notebook is defiantly my favorite there. I love old 80's movies, sixteen candles, the breakfast club, DIRTY DANCING (do you know any girl who doesn't love that movie?) but I think my favorite older movie is Urban Cowboy.
Honestly it is really hard to pick, I love to watch movies, movies of all kinds. I am not a fan or horror movies, but I do love the Halloween movies. But I am not a fan of being scared so I usually stay away from those. I am also not a fan of action movies or movies that require you to follow and figure it all out. Movies should be fun not work :) LOL
I also love a good old black and white and the remakes of them.

So many things make me happy how could I possibly pick just one?? I choose for the simple things in life to make me happy.

  • a fountain pop,
  • a trip to Target,

March 4 blog challenge

MY PARENTS:

I have the most wonderful parents in the entire world. There is no doubt about it. My mom has been my best friend for as long as I can remember, we have the best relationship. As a little girl my mom said my dad was my best play mate. He would take me for wagon rides to the park, swimming at the YMCA, to work out with him, to work with him on the weekends. Not to mention getting down on the floor and playing whatever little thing I was playing that day. But I do remember, he was no good at playing barbies. My parents worked hard to provide for me and my 3 siblings. They have been through many struggles and health scares, but always come out with a smile on their faces. They always loved each other and us unconditionally. Still to this day they help me out in a pinch, give me wonderful advice and endless support. There is not a single big decision I would make without consulting them first. We had the perfect life and the greatest parents ever!
Love you Mom and Dad!!

March 3 blog challenge

YOUR FIRST LOVE:

This is a big question mark for me. I have no idea who my first love was. I had boy friends and puppy love through out middle school and high school. But I never loved anyone like I love Jeremy. Our love was easy, for the first year, I think he only irritated me once and it was because he loved me so much! My love for him grew a million times when we had Jack. I can't explain it, and it didn't happen with all the babies, just Jack. It made me love him so much more deeply. We were truly bonded for life. Then life took over and there was a fussy baby, a small condo that wouldn't sell, there were long, hard hours at work, billsbillsbills! and so much stress. There were fights, and love wasn't so easy anymore. But we had a good connection, a good foundation, and deep down we loved each other so much, just forgot it sometimes. We have been together for 8.5 years now and I can honestly say, I am so glad that we made it. I am so glad that we never gave up at the same time. That he stayed when I know he wanted to go and that I gave him one more chance when I wasn't sure I could.
I love you Jeremy, you are my fist and ONLY TRUE LOVE.

March 2 blog challenge

Meaning behind your blog name.
MY CRAZY WONDERFUL LIFE.
I find that at times my life gets so crazy if an outsider were watching they would not believe the total chaos. The kids are screaming, the house is a mess, the dog just barfed and I look at it all and smile. Because I know, that time passes way to fast and soon there will be no little people around me all the time, making the crazy chaos, making my crazy wonderful life.

March 1 blog challenge

Introduce:
you all know me. there isn't much to say. I am a stay at home mommy of 2 living children and 2 sweet angels. I have an obsession with redecorating and I think its because I am home all day. I am a sub para at LPS and I love it. I love picking when I work and still having a chance to be home as much as I want. I love my family, friends and my life!

Recent picture:
I am always taking the pictures, not in them!! So you get a recent picture of the chickens.

15 random facts:
  1. I love the way Emma's breath smells. I call it stinky sweet.
  2. I am a home body. I would rather be home snuggled up with my loves, then out at a loud bar any day.
  3. I only have 3/4 main teeth on the bottom due to crowding. You can't even tell.
  4. I hate to clean, but clean my house every Friday morning anyway.
  5. The coffee I make at home is never as good as the coffee I get other places.
  6. 7 years ago today I was anxiously awaiting the birth of my first child. I still had not a single stretch mark, but now have tons.
  7. We are so close to being debt free (besides the mortgage and van) that I can taste the financial freedom!
  8. I sell tons of stuff on craigslist, but get a little freaked out every time I give out my address.
  9. I need to loose 50lbs. But am the worlds WORST dieter/exerciser.
  10. I wish I could make myself become a runner. I tried last spring and wore the wrong underwear and spent the whole time yanking them back up.
  11. My favorite store is Target. I rarely find anything that I don't love or need there. That is almost always my go to spot for retail therapy.
  12. Emma keeps asking me to make her a cake, and now I am starving for some cake.
  13. I am a horrible cook. There is only a handful of things that I can make well.
  14. I love diet mountain dew.
