The meaning of Christmas
I am well aware that the true meaning of Christmas is the most important thing of the season. With that being said, as a mother, Christmas has taken on a whole new meaning. I almost enjoy Christmas more now then I did as a child. I remember the magic of Christmas growing up. Church followed by home made dinner and treats, presents with family, laughter and love, and the anticipation of Santa coming that night. It was great then, and once I stopped believing in Santa, it lost the magic and like most kids, it was just about the presents. Now I have my own kids to play Santa for and I want it all to be perfect. Every parent will tell you that the look on your child's face when they get the gift they have been waiting all season for is priceless and every parents true gift at Christmas. So while I know that is not what the season is all about, I do not feel in the wrong for wanting to make a magical, wonderful Christmas for my kids.

Shellac
I made a new discovery 2 weeks ago while getting a pedi. Shellac. It is a wonderful new way to keep your natural nails polished and looking good without changing polish every few days or wearing fake nails. You go in and they apply 4 coats of shellac. Base, 2 coats of color, and top. you let each layer dry under a UV light for 2 minutes and you leave with completely dry, hard, shiny, un-smudged nails. The cost is around $25 with a manicure and about $15 for just a polish change. When you want to take the shellac off, you just go in (or do it at home) and they soak cotton in acetone, place it on your nail and wrap you nails in tin foil. Then the shellac just scraps off. It lasted great for me. I went exactly 2 weeks in between polish changes (bc my nails grow fast) I had one small chip from peeling a price tag off. I just filed the nail down and you couldn't tell it had chipped. Then yesterday (day 13 of polish) 2 nails peeled off. I'm not really sure how it happened. But I still think shellac is a good thing for special occasions or for someone who cant get to their nails every few days but likes to have them polished.

Out of the mouth of Jack
Last night Jack was telling me what kind of car he is going to get when he is older. He was describing it in great detail and I was half listening....Until he told me the kind of truck he wanted was a Fegy.
ME: "Oh, I see... wait a what??"
JACK: "You know a Fegy, like the truck dad wants instead of the truck he has now."
I am racking my brain trying to think of what a Fegy is... then it hit me and I said "you mean a Chevy??" "Yeah a Chevy" he says. I love him to pieces!!!!
